If you have been watching any news you are aware of the latest airline regulations. Donna Booth, our travel agent has forwarded to us the guidelines for travel. Please do not get stressed about this. These are the guidelines that in affect right now and you are all leaving in a month. We have seen how things can change daily. These may be the guidelines when you come and they may not be. Watch the news to keep yourselves informed and we will do our best to keep you informed on our end. We just want to make sure that you are aware that packing may even be more difficult then planned and start preparing yourselves for it. The guidelines are as follows:
PLEASE READ THE BELOW LISTED HOMELAND SECURITY ADVISORY REGARDING THREAT CONDITION ORANGE FOR ALL FLIGHTS DEPARTING THE U.S. AIRPORTS. THE CONDITION ORANGE IS EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY AND ITS EXPIRATION IS INDEFINITE.
ALL PASSENGERS MUST BE ADVISED THE FOLLOWING WHEN THEY ARE MAKING THEIR FLIGHT RESERVATIONS AND AT FIRST POINT OF CONTACT AT THE DEPARTURE AIRPORT:
1. No liquids or gels are permitted to enter the sterile area through the screening checkpoint or be in accessible property or on one’s person except:
2. a. Baby formula, breast milk, or juice if a baby or small child is traveling
b. Prescription medicine with a name that matches the passenger’s ticket
c. Insulin and essential other non-prescription medicines
3. Passengers must NOT be permitted to take liquids and gels purchased inside the sterile area onboard the aircraft.
For purposes of this notice, liquids and gels include beverages, shampoo, suntan lotion, creams, toothpaste, hair gel, and other items of similar consistency.
4. Passengers cannot have liquids or gels when boarding the aircraft.
5. ALL footwear will be removed and x-ray screened, except for footwear of Persons With Disabilities and elderly passengers who cannot remove their footwear, which must be subjected to ETD.
6. Advise passengers that the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security has determined that there is a high risk of terrorism against U.S. civil aviation and the need for extra restrictions to assure the security of air travel. Advise passengers to travel light. Their accessible property should have minimal clutter to expedite the screening process.
